How to spec a custom perfume bottle: neck, pump and MOQ

Perfume is sold by its bottle, so the details matter more than in any other beauty category. Four specs drive the quote: capacity, neck finish, pump type and decoration.

Capacity is the simplest: 10 ml travel, 30–50 ml standard, 100 ml statement. Larger bottles are not proportionally more expensive per unit, but they change carton packing and shipping cost.

The neck finish determines which pump fits. Crimped necks (15–18 mm) are the standard for spray pumps; screw necks suit roll-ons and sample formats. Match the finish to the pump before you request samples.

Pumps are bought separately from the glass in most supply chains. Specify spray output (fine mist vs. stream), collar color and whether you want a metal or plastic collar — this is where custom branding shows.

Decoration — frosted body, screen printing, gold foil — adds lead time and cost per piece. Sample the decoration on the actual bottle, not a photo, because glass curvature distorts printing.
